i am sick and tired of this crap. i cannot stand the music industry these days. i really don't get it. i mean, what are these people thinking? for example, i was listening to the radio the other day, and i heard a band called slipknot. excuse me, but i'm gonna use some office space here. slipknot is a group of a bunch of "no talent ass clowns." there that feels better. i'm not just talking about slipknot people. i am talking about mudvayne, disturbed, any other new band that is on the radio right now. there are a few exceptions yes, but for the majority, guess what?

they blow. i mean horrible, waste of life bullshit. all the bands sing about now is how much their life sucks. i'm not going to go off on how they make millions and their life sucks, but jesus mother of god, give me a fucking break. another reason i hate the majority of these bands is because they actually think they are hard. by hard i mean rockin', nirvana, deftones, they are hard. but the shit that's out today, come on, let's get serious, they are polluting the airwaves. there are a few things these new bands do to "enhance" their music. this is how the song writing goes:

1. create a riff that is about 2 or 3 chords and repeat over and over.
2. next in the middle of the song, do that riff backwards about five times.
3. repeat step 1.
4. get a absolutely horrid singer.
5. attempt to enhance his voice with digital effects.
6. buy the loudest amp you can find and break it.
7. plug in and turn the volume up all the way.
8. hit the distortion pedal and don't turn it off until done with song.
9. constantly hit the double bass pedal.
10. turn the bass all the way up.
11. act like a jackass on stage.

this is seriously what i think happens during writing a song. i mean what do these bands do? waste all their recording money on women and drugs and then record an album in about 2 days? i have also collaborated a list of bands that absolutely suck for you. enjoy:

note: i have listened to each and every one of these bands, and let me assure you, they all suck. i could go on forever with this but i am not, these are all the hard bands that suck, not all the bands that suck, just the ones who think they are hard. so the moral of the story is, you are either hard or not. if you are hard you have heart, soul, feeling and a music that rocks (ie. nirvana, deftones). if you are not hard you suck ass (ie. slipknot, disturbed). i am sick and tired of this subject, so all of the bands that think they are hard, their not, if you think any of these bands are hard, your wrong.

i dont mean to get anyone's panties in a wrinkle but have you ever listened to a mudvayne cd? There is no way your saying they use the same riffs over and over, they change timings, tempos, and everything else all in one song. I happened to find out that u play bass, and i am almost 100% sure that u cant play anything close to how the bassist in Mudvayne plays, he is incredible, EVERYONE in that band is incredible. I cant believe u related them to slipknot, and second of all, just because u dont know anything about half of these bands doesnt make u right because u may have heard one or two songs from them and not liked them. I do agree with you on some of the bands like Godsmack and Drowning pool, but some of the things u mentioned are just absolutely false

Alright, because of your opinion, I took a better look at Mudvayne and some of the other bands that I mentioned in my rant above. I am going to take exception to Mudvayne. Individually the Singer, Bassist and Drummer are fantastic at what they do. They are very catchy group and they can play if they want to. The one big problem I had with LD 5.0 was that the band was trying to play over eachother too much, showing off too much. There new album, they have culminated as a group more and it shines through. After vigorous listening, I can see why your opinoin is what it is. There is one thing I will not give to you, simply that Mudvayne is easy to see that they have so much talent. At a first listen, especially on the radio, the production quality is so low that you can barely hear the bass or even the drums at points. The guitarist is nothing special, but he contributes to the band nonetheless. As for the other bands that I mentioned, they all suck. Im not going to revert back on that, the only band up there that I semi respect is Linkin Park just because they are marketing genius's for making millions of dollars for not writing anything when they released 'reanimation.' And by the way, I would appreciate it if you would type clearer sentences so I don't have to refer to the AOL Sland Dictionary to figure out what you are saying.

I'll agree with most of what you said, but I also respect Mudvayne for the same reasons Jim listed. There is just a little bit more depth and talent in that band than the others listed. And you are right about first impressions... I used to be a hater, but after you actually listen to some stuff, it's not half bad. I know a lot of people that put down Mudvayne simply because they "wear makeup" and they heard "that one song" of theirs a couple of years ago. Strangely enough, these same people are fans of some other bands on your list up there...

And hey, Alien Ant Farm is just so damn likeable.

Hmmm.... I can't agree with the list of bands you have put up at all, especially the Metallica listing. Do yourself a favor, go to your local blockbuster or local "music store" and rent or buy "...A Year and half in the the Life of Metallica" part 1 and 2. You'll actually get to see what a real band looks like in the studio and since I have seen both these videos I know for a fact it does not resemble your songwriting process at all. Lets see, how long did it take for the whole process to make the black album by metallica? 2 days? hmmm...no, it was actually about 8 months, not 2 days, I can tell you they didn't waste all there money on women and drugs either. They made an album that went platinum multiple times, earned them a grammy award, and kept them on tour playing more venues in one year than all the concerts you'll ever see combined. You just sound like you got a bad taste of sour grapes. And what exactly is your definition of hard? Just the deftones and nirvana? What a close-minded, sorry ass, nose picking, crybaby, unoriginal, wannabe-musician, loser, definition. So let me get this straight, after being told that those are the 2 bands that you measure up against everything else, Metallica is not hard, Type O Negative (the band the coined the phrase Slow, deep and hard) is not hard, and Creed is not hard just to name a few? Why don't you tell me that your dick is not hard and will never be and just be over with it?!?!?! You don't know what hard is (especially since you just admitted your dick is always limp), you don't know anything about what goes on in the studio for any of the bands you have listed, you don't know anything about how they write their music, or shit about music one way or the other except I bet you can barely tune a radio, and probally model your opions about music off of someone else's and don't think for yourself. When you musically surpass the bands that you don't consider hard, then you can define what hard is, who sucks, and you can write down your studio secrets about how you acheived that so then maybe I can gain some insight.

Seems the ignorance of those younger, less informed and studied again can only offer very few words of unintelligance with no sentiments of originality. And why is that? To busy watching tv, playing video games, or listning to your sorry ass indie or underground bands in your basement to know what substance is. Most of the aforemented bands have someting you basement losers don't, charisma, depth, and work ethic. I am not saying you have to like and listen to any these bands, but you should at least have some respect for them. If anything you can learn something from them, and that is success (not how to suck like the shitty beatles(and the only reason I pick on the shitty beatles is, you guessed it, he's the shittiest one of all -BRAD)). Now lets see, I don't how most of you measure success(especially ultimate success that is in music), but to me its not this...
1. Being a band that doesn't draw or have the goods to draw
2. Boring pressence
3. nonOriginal songs and or song ideas
4. no substance
5. The shitty beatles
6. lack of education in instrument knowledge ( this doesn't mean you have to go to a music school to have this, some of the best musicians are self taught.)
7. No determination or want of accepttance (go see Gonzalez live)
8. Not being able to see in black and white

Now, I am going to use Metallica for this example cause all of you seem to love them so much. Lets see how they compare on my list of don'ts.

1. Do they draw...thats a Tough one.. Yes they do and they drew crowds before some of you were even thought of being conceived. They sold millions of records before they had radio and tv exposure.
2. Why did they draw? For starters they didn't having boring presence-unlike the shitty beatles
3. well you can have all the presence you want but what else appealed about them? Duh- Original songs or song ideas
4. But you can have that and still have no success what else about made them succed? Substance you dumb ass- the crowd could and wanted to connect with them.
5. Shitty beatles? What the Fuck man
6. Instrument knowledge? nah thats for pussies, art like flows through me cause I sit in my indie basement and listen to indie/underground records all day and get indie Ideas.--Well if thats your attitude you obviously have no work ethic. Metallica learned to play their instruments with hard work and study.
7. But why did they work at their insturments?- Duh. they wanted to succed instead of sitting in their indie basements bitcing about how all the big acts suck cause they made it and my favorite sorry ass never heard of band should be acceppted on a much more higher level. yeah as if..
8. But because I am so cool cause I said that metallica ain't hard and that they suck why didn't they give up? Uh...Cause dude, they uh, well they saw in black and white and would have given up or never started if they knew they sucked or didn't have the determination to get better. Its like David Lee Roth says, " you either got it or you don't." Metallica obviously got it and most of you don't.

Now, I know most of your attention spans are so short you probally didn't make it this far. And aside from that, most of you couldn't even express yourself as much as this. Given most of your responses and how short they are proves my point. If you can't even do that, then what valid points do you have that earn you any credibility with music? To me none. To lots of others, none. Which after all, being able to express is a part of music. If you have all the tools to express right, then you connect, if you connect, you attract, when you attract, if you have substance, then you have a chance at of being able to play music and grow and have lots of people who will except you for that.

So lets see, what lame response will I get from brad..... uH, mETAllICA, LIKE UH STILL suxs and the like, shitty beatles, are like (school girl laugh) totally better. Lets go get some Wendy's now, cause I am hungray.
