linkin park's new album is just a remix of their song "In The End" split into to like 13 tracks. i cannot stand the rapper in that fucking band, and the actual singer is not bad, he just needs to get away from that band and stop trying to win the justin timberlake look-alike contest. oh yeah, and they need some talent in that band too, that helps sometimes.
disturbed - are you serious? i mean, i think we'll all admit that they are the biggest joke in the industry today, but to actually think their good, that's just blasphemy. i don't care about their technical ability, i really don't listen to that much, but the best song i have heard from them is "droppin' plates on your ass biatch!" which is a rip from beavis. _________________ spent the look in your eyes

yes, chester is an amazing singer.. and no meteora is not in the end 13 times over..that is obviously one of the few linkin park songs you can name. i can see your point about the rapper, but claiming the rest of the band has no talent is insane.. how can u say that if u have actually heard the album? As for disturbed, i will admit they went astray with some of their songs, but the lead singer is one of the few singers i know that doesnt try to sound like someone else, and the guitarist is one of the best ive heard. Give them a chance, dont just go blastin bands becuase you might have heard one or two of a band's songs. _________________ This is where I typed my signature. |

k, metallica belongs nowhere on that list. thier first 4 albums are nothing short of spectacular. they go from speed to thrash to progressive. then, with the black album, they record one of the best sounding albums ever. yeah, this guy is just upset and dislikes metallica cause they are an easy target.
wait til st. anger comes out. from what i have heard of it, it is just insane riff madness, time changes, extremely dynamic, thrashing double bass craziness. |

for your information, a friend and i downloaded all of meteora and hybrid theory and tried to see what talent was in the band. the conclusion is that the dj is the most talented member in the band, the drummer is awful and the guitarist is mediocre at best. i don't find pressing buttons playing an instrument, that's just me. disturbed - their a joke, guitarist is lame, go listen to failure, an incredibly unique and original guitarist, it's not metal, but that will show you what someone creative can do. metallica - listn to james hetfields voice and tell me that it sounds good. metallica will never live up to what they once "were." which in my opinion, they haven't been anything, but people disagree with me. st. anger looks to be probably the worst album of the year. its' a shame to see kirk hammit go to waste. _________________ spent the look in your eyes

well of course you arent gonna like it. you dont like metallica, hence, you are not gonna like this one. some of the vocals off tracks like bleeding me and outlaw torn are excellent. but, then again, you dont like them period. so, no matter what, you are gonna be biased to hate the album. |

i would like to comment on the talent of linkin park. They suck, sorry just had to get that out of the way.
The singer, (not the rapper) has a good voice when he wants to. I have seen them live a few times(not purpouse) and i have to say, they put on a good show. So yeah, the singer isnt bad. The guitarist, he surely comes up with some cool riffs. Second and 3rd guitarist... Well, they are more like stage props, so i cant really comment on them. The bassist, well... guitar number 4 but with low end. Dj is talented, but i will have to go with brad on this one. A fucking monkey can push buttons. Infact they had this monkey on the Simpsons once, that fucker was the shit. He did everything. Anywho.... and last but not least... THE DRUMMER! he hehe. Do i really have to go into this one? Ringo Star had more, well ok, maybe not ringo star, but holy shit that guy is lame! He cant even keep a fucking beat so they have to have a 2/4 beat playing over the pa for him to follow live. Think its bullshit? I will show you the interview with him confessing to sucking ass. MAJOR ass. Listen, defending linkin park, come on. They are the Backstreet Boys on steroids. If you are going to pick a band that lots of the songs sound the same, shit go with 311, A MILLION TIMES BETTER. Each member of that band has more talent than all of linkin park combined. It is stupifying to me that bands like disturbed and linkin park are hogging up all the fucking air waves when there are somany MUCH MORE talanted bands out there. Check out New End Original if you want something different. Seriously, i could sit there on my roland mixer and write pop songs all fucking day, its not hard, here is the formula...
1: EVERYTHING IS IN 4/4 time signature
2:Vocals are about some personal issue to the singer that no one cares about. Whining about how they have it so rough yet they are making millions(little bitches)
3:The same guitar riff i ahve heard for the past 5 years
4:Same drum beat i have heard for the past 5 years(listen to creed to get an example)
5: have a bassist that does nothing but the guitar riff.
its not hard.
And as far as Metallica goes...i will quote James Hetfield on this one... "Hoorahhahahaha" dipshit _________________ ^v^ Yeah, Im in the band! ^v^

I have a thought on this very old subject... my fault for not signing up until the topic was long gone. despite anyone's personal feelings on number 5 and 18>>
5. Type O Negative
18. Alien Ant Farm
I have to hand them my utmost respect on a platter for being masters of the cover song. I shy away from giving Metallica praise on this subject in particular only because tributes to their influences seem to be pulling that strand of inspiration individually out of the collective Metallica to sound like the influencing band once again... Type O and AAF have taken part in the art of the cover song, that goes quite a long way beyond the training wheels use of familiar songs for starting bands. these bands, as very polished, solid entities in and of themselves, glossed songs very different from their material with their own imaginings and made them distinctively theirs, as well as the original artist's. your preferences aside, they deserve a couple gold stars for mustering up the balls to reface Neil Young and Michael Jackson respectively
on that note Greg, I don't think I ever showed you my full appreciation for the heavied-up And I Ran... please have my children. it may never find its way onto the Andreia set list, but I hope someday at least 80% of the music-loving population has heard for themselves that it can be done, and done well. |

Somewhere Dope is shedding a single tear.
The Flock of Seagulls have come up a few times in the cover talks. So far only Nirvana and Hum covers have happened -- actually I don't think anyone has heard the Nirvana covers since we keep getting cut short on the set list. But when we actually have some time to sit down and work on something that's more complicated we'll be a little creative. As for 80's bands... I'm a huge Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, and Smiths fan, so... _________________ I take pride as the King of Illiterature. |

I just started reading this tread and noticed that someone was getting a little violent towards you Brad. That's hystarical. I can't believe people get so into their opinion on music that they wanna fight over. "Don't let me catch you alone Brad!!!" That's classic........ keep up the hard work Brad!!!!!! _________________ I love my soccer mom minivan, I actually call it my "Lady Killer" cuz the only way I can pick a woman up is to hit her. |
