There both thrillers. Millionaires is about these 2 guys who steal money from the bank they work at and they are on the run, 2nd chance is about a serial killer.

Actually, Millionaires sounds weak. You need to refine your tastes some more and start reading ANYTHING form the great R.L. Stine's humongous career in the literary field.
Other good writers to check out are William Gibson and Bret Easton Ellis.

Ian, you know better than anyone that I've definately absorbed more than my fair share of "Goosebumps" in my time... Not to say that you haven't.

R.L. Stein is where its at yo! I can almost read a whole novel by him. I still have some trouble with the big words in the books, but my mom helps me out.

bret easton ellis... at best... is entertainment. hes no literary scholar. same for james patterson, and every other horror/thriller writer. its pure entertainment.. they offer nothing to the reader other than mindless enjoyment... and thereis nothing at all wrong with that.

want insight? read zinn, chomsky, kerouac, faulkner, wolfe, ginsberg... and so on.

i dunno man. patterson is just a 2-hour mindless muder mystery writer. bret easton ellis at least has the satire working, and he's far beyond patterson in the literary department as well. there's a whole lot put into his work, regardless of what people think of the subject matter. he reminds me of oliver stone. yes, it's really offensive and never at any point subtle, but anybody who thinks natural born killers or american psycho lacks talent.... lets just say i bet ellis spent a year perfecting with his editor, and stone probably longer with his.

ive read rules of attraction, american psycho, and less than zero by bret easton ellis. and they were all fantastic. but they dont compare to the classics. i dont see ellis goin down as a monumental author... his shits fantatsic, but it doesnt truly offer anything to the reader or the literary world.

i don't look for enlightment in books, i've been force-fed way to many in school as it is, and i can personally defend my own on why i hated almost every single one. don't get me started on trancendentalism. the books i listed are for strictly entertainment purposes. if you actually thing brett easton ellis is a "serious" author your crazy. he may use bigger words and a different take on writing, but it's all the same to me, it's pure entertainment.
