I've heard much praise on The Mars Volta, and how original they are, but they don't compare to these guys. I've listened 4 songs, and Televators it the one I like best, people would disagree with me, but I don't find it highly original. I'm not going to shit all over it like before, it's solid music, and they worked hard to create what they did. Drunken Ship Lanterns or whatever it's called is another story, I have only bad things to say about that song, but that's not why I am posting this.
For incredibly original music, you might want to check out Glifted. It is simply amazing, the loop based music might get annoying at first, but once you listen to it a good 5 times, your pretty much hooked. Of course these guys have their influences, but I can't think of one band that Glifted sounds like. So, if anybody knows who their predecessor might be, please, let me know. It sounds like space rock looped with tons of effects, an incredible listen and I highly reccomend it.
Give it a chance though, don't shit all over it at first like I did with The Mars Volta, it might take a while to get used to these guys. If anybody is interested the members in this band are Tim Lash from Hum and T.J. Harrison from the band Lovecup (Haven't heard any of their stuff really). But, please, let me know what you think. "Is There Any Always" is a great start for a listen and you might have to search hard for their music, their all independent.
...justify your answer with the above poll and a post, I would really like to hear what you guys think.
